An extremely rare and very stunning Shelley Art Deco 12109/8 Queen Anne tulip handle tea trio. Pattern number 12109/8: Solid blue ground colour on small panels. Ivory ground on large panels. Entered in pattern book during or after 1932. The shape of this trio is the Queen Anne floral handle shape which is very seldom seen. The back stamp is the 1925-40 green cartouche mark. Dimensions: tea cup base 39mm (1.5 inches) / distance across top of cup 82mm (3.2 inches) / height of cup 59mm (2.3 inches) / saucer 131mm (5.2 inches) / side plate 159mm (6.25 inches). Condition: The cup base has a couple of extremely faint light stress lines which can only be seen under very close scrutiny (please see photo taken against a bright light which does exaggerate them) Otherwise all 3 pieces are in excellent clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, scratching or any signs of wear. All paintwork is in good order with no fading to the pattern. All 3 pieces (including the cup) have an excellent "ping" to them when lightly tapped.
