Extremely rare 2006 CD & VCD of China Uyghur? Uzbek GIRL band SHAHRIZODA
Up for grabs is a lot of two (2) CD and VCD music discs by Uzbek China Uyghur girl band SHAHRIZODA???????? Condition of CD and VCD is like-new. Their jewel cases have some cracks and show shelf wear (see pics); the inlays/inserts are excellent. At the time, these CDs were very hard to come by. 16 years later , Shahrizoda's music in physical form is even more scarce. Luckily their songs have been preserved on youtube (search "Shahrizoda - Oynasun"), but for collectors of physical media, tangible memorabilia and rare music, these two discs are must-haves.
This is their only listing on either site. Shahrizoda is a Central Asian music group consisting of three girls from Uzbekistan who are based in West China. Their music ranges from traditional ethnic music to ethno-pop and pop.
They sing mostly in Uzbek or the Uyghur language. Is from the legendary Persian story of "Scheherezade", the Queen and story teller of the "One Thousand and One Nights" that is based on the old Persian Hezar-afsana.
The three Shahrizoda members, Muborak Ashurboeva, Shakhnoza Yuldosheva and Kamola Arslanova were born in Uzbekistan and moved to China in the early'00s. The original Shahrizoda Trio made the videos in late 2006 with the background scenes taken in various cities across West China. The song "Oynasun" became an instant hit and spread over to other parts of China. The second VCD was issued in mid 2007 with new members, notably the beautiful Uzbek singer Nadira. Two songs in this latest VCD, Guli and Almihan, were sung in Han Chinese and all other songs were with the lyrics translated in Han Chinese characters.
